Funding & Support

The Open Door Food BankThe Open Door Food Bank has no one major benefactor or sponsor. Since opening the food bank in late 1998, Rev. Jeters has contributed a lot of her personal funds into this wonderful service. Close friends, family, and a few businesses have helped. Despite the large amount of paperwork involved, Rev. Jeters has applied for city, county, and state funding.

Since all the services provided by the Open Door Food Bank are free, donated funds are critically needed. The food bank needs donations to help with fuel for the delivery and pick up trucks, ever mounting power bills resulting from storing meats, dairy products, and frozen foods and rental fees for the many small warehouses Feed The Childrenmaintained for food storage.

Volunteers are always welcome and can help pick up donated items, arrange the storage warehouses, distribute food, and to help out in many ways during any of the special events like Thanksgiving, Christmas, local barbecues, and other local distribution efforts at city or county sponsored events.

If you are interested in donating items, time, or funds, please contact us by e-mail or by phone at 239-694-4050.

Reverend Glenda Jeters,

I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you for visiting our community and blessing the poor with the food give-a-way program. Your work, in conjunction with the Reach Out Everglades committee "Share" project reached out to many of our disadvantaged, bringing assistance to the local level and making a difference.

Sincerely,
Lieutenant Michael Dolan, - Collier County Sheriff Department

Dear Rev. Jeters,

Thank you so much for your donation of food to PACE Center for Girls, Inc. We hope you know how much your support of PACE is appreciated. Your donation enables PACE to provide gender-specific education, individual and family counseling, and life management training for thousands of at-risk girls.
