Reverend Glenda Jeters isn't waiting around for times to get harder. At a time when the numbers of homeless and hungry in Southwest florida is growing at an alarming rate, The Open Door Food Bank founder is getting ready to be able to collect and store available food.

The Food Bank needs a tractor trailer and a large warehouse with freezers.

A lot of major food companies offer free food like Lipton's and Campbell's. Having the opportunity to bring in over 3,000 frozen turkeys and 20,000 pounds of chicken, Reverend Jeters recognized her biggest obstacles: how to get the food here and how to properly store it.

In November 2001 Rev. Jeters finished a course which earned her a CDL Class A license for Tractor Trailers. She can drive the Big Rigs!

Our wish is for a Big Rig for Reverend Jeters to drive and transport food back to Southwest Florida for distribution. You can help us achieve that goal. Please contact us directly via phone, fax or e-mail.

Our other major wish is for a large warehouse with walk-in freezers, preferably near the Palm Beach Boulevard side of East Ft. Myers. Currently The Open Door Food Bank has six (6) small warehouses in Lee County which makes storing and distributing the food a time consuming and expensive venture.

Dear Rev. Jeters,

On behalf of The Gabriel children and staff, we thank you for your generosity and support of the children. we are so appreciative of the food you gave us! Without your support and the generosity of so many other genuine friends of the children, this ministry to little ones who have been abandoned and have so many medical needs would not be possible.

Sincerely,
Edward B. Ravish - Co-Founder, The Gabriel House,Inc.

TESTIMONIALS
From The Desk of Senator Bob Graham, U.S. Senator, Florida:
Dear Rev. Jeters,

I would like to join the chorus of other voices in commending you and your assistant, Mr. David Davis, for your longstanding contributions to the citizens of Lee County.
Through your "Open Door Food Bank", I understand countless needy families and individuals have been fed. Certainly, food and shelter are the most basic human needs. Organizations such as yours, which are committed to helping to meet these critical needs, are essential in a civil society.
On behalf of the scores of people who have benefitted directly from your outstanding mission and outreach, thank you for your relentless efforts in the Fort Myers area. I trust that you will continue to be able to pursue such a worthy service.

With kind regarsd,
Bob Graham, United States Senator
